Cowpoke Classes Cowpoke Classes are held during the month of June through September. This is one-four hour daycamp classes for children ages five through twelve. Children will pick their own miniature horses to learn basic horse care, grooming and handling. Once children learn the basics of horse handling, they then take their horses through an obstacle course of jumps, bridges, barrels and cones. After this, the kids break for snacks and craft time. Then it's back to the ponies to decorate them with costumes, and take pictures. Class sizes are limited to 5 and according to age group. Rates are $35 per child. All classes are subject to weather conditions. Critter Classes One week of daily classes for children ages five through twelve. Children experience hands on learning: horses to learn basic horse care, grooming and handling. Not only fun with ponies, children will receive hands on learning about the farm and other farm animals. Milk a goat or a cow, then what? Gather eggs, funky colors why? Shear a sheep, what do you do with it then? Communicate with the animals....how? Fun with the animals, games, snack and craft time will provide a week of learning fun. Tuition includes a scrape book-to record the fun filled memories of 5 days at the farm. Rates per child is $125, each sibling in immediate family will be given aa 10% discount. Gardening Does your child like to dig in the dirt, play in the mud, pick flowers, walk barefoot in the grass. Then this is the for them! The class will teach them the world of gardening with "hands on" activities for ages 6-12. The program includes a study of life skills and career exploration then culminates the JMG experience with service learning projects and recognizes children's efforts with a certification as a Junior Master Gardener. JMG Mission: To grow good kids by igniting a passion for learning, success and service through a unique gardening education. The curriculum includes • Independent and group learning experiences • Life/skill and career exploration • Service learning opportunities for youth All curriculum is correlated with State Teaching Guidelines This class will be a 8 week course. The JMG Course will be registered as a group with the national JMG program. Fees for the class include logo tee shirt, crafts, student manual. First person hands on training in growing a garden with hopefuly a product they can enter into a fair! They get a JMG tee shirt and a JMG Handbook, and can earn some super awards. What is Junior Master Gardens (JMG) Click on the JMG logo above. It is a 4-H youth development program of the cooperative Extension system. Educational Programs  We offer a large variety of programs to suit your needs. We can bring one animal or several. Generally each program consists of six animals, artifacts native to the area or theme chosen and extenders. We offer several themes and can tailor one to suit your needs. Programs are generally 45 minutes to an hour long. Our Programs are aligned to meet Utah standards. Our curriculum is part of the Utah Agriculture in the Classroom, including hands-on so that it best fits the needs of a wide variety of learning styles. Great for schools, home schools, libraries, after school activities, preschools, churches, nursing homes, special needs and any arena where an education of animals is desired. 4-H is an experiential (hands-on, learn by doing) youth education program for ages Kindergarten through their 19th birthday. 4-H differs from other youth programs in that it is an integral part of our nations public education system. In Utah, it is an off campus, non-credit, voluntary education program, and is available to young people regardless of race, creed, religion, color, national origin, sex, mental or physical disabilities. At the national level, 4-H is under the leadership of the U.S. Department of Agriculture(USDA). The program is delivered by volunteer adults who serve as 4-H leaders and are considered volunteer faculty members of the Utah State University in Logan Utah. Through the 4-H advisors in the Utah State University Cooperative Extension office in each County, volunteers have access to research and information from the University.
